CLAYMINTON NB is an easily dispersible inorganic bentonite, which is produced by fine processing of high-purity montmorillonite. It is mainly used in W/B architectural coatings and artistic coating systems.

Using method

CLAYMINTON NB can be directly added to the coating base or used to prepare a pre-gel. The addition method is as follows:

1. water-based resin, emulsion and water
2. Powder or 8% pre-gel(3000rpm/10mins)
3. Surfactant(wetting dispersant, defoamer)
4. Pigment
5. thin down paint 

• Preparation of pre-gel

1. Water 92%, bentonite 8%
2. Water and bentonite mixed 5 minutes (fully wettability), then disperse at high speed for 20-30 minutes(full expansion)

Levels of use

The quantity of CLAYMINTON NB to use depends on the system in question. Typical levels are between 0.3% and 1.5% dry CLAYMINTON NB based on total system weight.
