CLAYMINTON ZK is inorganic bentonite, which is produced by fine processing of high-quality montmorillonite. The product is non-toxic, odorless, soft and has excellent stability and thixotropy.

Using method

CLAYMINTON ZK can be directly added to the coating base or used to prepare a pre-gel. The addition method is as follows:
1) water-based resin, emulsion and water
2) Powder or 10% pre-gel(3000rpm/10mins)
3) Surfactant(wetting dispersant, defoamer)
4) Pigment 
5) thin down paint

• Preparation of pre-gel
1) Water 90%, bentonite 8-10%
2) Water and bentonite mixed 5 minutes (fully wettability), then disperse at high speed for 20-30 minutes(full expansion)

Levels of use

The quantity of CLAYMINTON ZK to use depends on the system in question. Typical levels are between 0.3% and 2.0% dry CLAYMINTON 
ZK based on total system weight.
